"Read in order to live" (Gustave Flaubert) -- I want to learn something new every day, and most of all, understand what I already know even better. Life is full of mysteries, and the biggest of them all is myself.

From site: "What if you could rebuild the Pyramids, the Ziggurats, or the Parthenon, or the Temple of Jerusalem, and study the culture of antiquity in its original surroundings? What if you could converse with Socrates in the Agora, put on an ancient Greek play in virtual reality, or relive the epic Battle of Marathon in 490 BCE?"

Ancient Spaces is "an evolving ... interactive simulations and multiplayer educational gaming set in the environments of Mediterranean antiquity (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome). But this is an online game with a twist. We want gamers and the academic community to join forces in developing the content for Ancient Spaces. While players will be encouraged to help create and guide the world that we play in, university students will also study the principles of archaeology by reconstructing the art and architecture of antiquity. The democratic process for content-creation will be vetted by academic faculty, guaranteeing an historically immersive experience before it is delivered. In fact, the latest research in archaeology will change the world around you as you play - offering a new means for researchers in ancient studies to get their work out to the interested public. This way, we hope to offer our players a chance to participate in cutting-edge research, even as the game itself offers the opportunity to 'change history'."
